MY BANDCAMP ACCOUNT WAS DELETED!

Updated: May 3, 2023

And without notice or explanation.

Bandcamp deleted my account, bandcamp banned me, why did bandcamp delete my account? Bandcamp banned me for no reason, paypal banned me, why did paypal ban me? I can't use paypal anymore, paypal is a joke, I can't use bandcamp without paypal, why did my bandcamp account get deleted? Why was my bancamp account deleted, sonya marlene snedden, sonya marlene,

What in the world is going on? I just went to my Bandcamp profile because I am getting ready to upload another song only to find out it's gone. And now I'm stuck trying to figure out why. Could it be my browser? I tried another browser... same error happened. Could it be my computer? Ok, maybe the computer is not receiving the internet signal very well. My internet was fine, though. So I tried another computer. Same thing showed up saying: "This album is not available."

So... for a last resort, I had to check Bandcamp to see if I could find my name listed on the site, as my name is always the first to show up in the search bar as Sonya Marlene. I noticed it would only let me login my fan account. You see, on bandcamp we can have both a fan account and an artist account. But why can't I login to my artist account? Strange. Not one hit on the search for my name either. This is not good. Could I have been hacked? Did Bandcamp mistakenly delete my account? Did I get a wrongful copyright strike?? All I know is that somebody deleted my account, and it wasn't me.

So the question I ask myself:

"I'm such a small fish in the pond. So why me?"

There has to be an explanation as to why. I looked at both my emails and did not find any warnings, reasons, or whys about what happened in my inboxes. So now, I'm confused.

So now I am stuck brainstorming on the possibilities:

Possibility #1: I've been hacked!

Possibility #2: Wrongful copyright strike

Possibility #3: Reported over Politics

Was I hacked?

Sonya Marlene, Sonya Marlene Snedden

Who would do this and why? If this be true, it was probably by someone who did not want me to succeed. I do get hate here and there. And some people will dis all your hard work over jealousy. That's the way of the world, and it comes with the territory of giving your gift to the world!

It took me a while to learn this, and if you haven't learned it yet, it is important that you do. Because it is so important.

Make your moves in silence. Especially at the very beginning. Do not tell a single soul about what you are doing. If it is important to you, keep it to yourself. Because what you hold close to your heart and is fragile. And it is human nature to piss on something precious.

It's like this video I posted a few years ago talking about what my channel was going to be about, and I got a whole lot of hate over it. So could it be someone trying to sabotage me? Over my dreams goals or potential?

They called me every name under the book, insulted my physical appearance, zeroed in on my weight, even called me a "racist" for talking about European/Western culture values. Antiwhite much? And not to mention, they hated my music. Well... these demos were not complete as they were only a couple of ideas showcased on my channel at the time and were not the finished product of my work. So why are people hating on it? Because people are afraid of your potential. Your dream is dangerous. So take responsibility to that. Hold that sacred. Don't tell. Show through your actions.

This could be a motive of someone wanting to ruin your life. So why would an enemy or hater of mine be lead to my Bandcamp site to report my account for whatever reason?

Bandcamp deleted my account, bandcamp banned me, why did bandcamp delete my account? Bandcamp banned me for no reason, paypal banned me, why did paypal ban me? I can't use paypal anymore, paypal is a joke, I can't use bandcamp without paypal, why did my bandcamp account get deleted? Why was my bancamp account deleted, sonya marlene snedden, sonya marlene,

Well... on my new twitter account I have the link to it, so it's hard to miss. It's bad enough that my old twitter account with over 2,400 followers was banned (for political reasons obviously). But now that they figured out they could not stop me there, what else could they do to try to ensure that I fail? Anyone who finds me on twitter who wishes to get the best of me could have very well followed this link and reported me for whatever reason they chose. Who knows? But this could be a motive of someone who obviously wants to bring me down. But they won't stop me! They won't because I am one who is fueled by this stuff. I've got a dream to pursue and I will not let anyone or anything stand in the way of it. And what I mean is taking the hit and moving forward without the need to pull others down or bring them down. That's not honest success, guys!

So now my question is... has anyone else had this problem? So I did my research and I came to this page of a man's complaint that his Bandcamp account was deleted without notice. Well what do you know? He stated:

"Wondering if anyone can help me. I just went to my bandcamp page (eliotwilder.bandcamp.com), and it has been deleted. I've been posting my albums on that site for a long time with no problem. But now, years of my work ... gone. I got no notice from bandcamp, no reason, no why.

I've found it very hard to contact them, but after some digging I came across their support email address, but I don't feel confident that I'll hear from them. I tried calling their main office in Oakland, but they have no listed number.

You'd think if I did something wrong or violated some policy, they would have emailed me about it.

I've thought that perhaps my page was hacked, but I'm such a small fish in a big pond, why would anyone bother?

Any thoughts?"

I can relate, brother! Of course, you can read more about it here.

But maybe this might ring a bell. In their terms of service they state:

"Company does not guarantee that any Content or User Submissions (as defined below) will be made available on the Site or through the Service. Company has no obligation to monitor the Site, Service, Content, or User Submissions. However, Company reserves the right to (i) remove, edit or modify any Content in its sole discretion, including without limitation any User Submissions, from the Site or Service at any time, without notice to you and for any reason (including, but not limited to, upon receipt of claims or allegations from third parties or authorities relating to such Content or if Company is concerned that you may have violated these Terms of Use), or for no reason at all and (ii) to remove or block any User Submissions from the Service.

Company reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in Company's sole discretion, violates this provision, including, without limitation, terminating your account and/or reporting such activity or Content to law enforcement authorities."

But wouldn't you think that it would be a common courtesy to at least let the person know why they are being deleted or inform them? Especially when it was a problem that could have been easily solved? But they would rather delete someone's account and therefore not allowing them to have access to it anymore. Welcome to today's new "customer service" for online musicians. So now you are left trying to figure these things out on your own. What a drag!

Was it a wrongful copyright strike?

Maybe someone had thought I had stolen someone else's song. But these are all original songs that were written by me and I have proof. They are all copyrighted material by the person that wrote it so I really don’t understand why they would take all of my songs down for copyright strikes.

I've got these for every single song I've posted there if you want proof! So why would someone give me a copyright strike without investigation? Don't I deserve a free trial before they decide to delete my account? Has anyone else dealt with problems like these? I bet I'm not the only one. So I decided to do some research. And sure enough, I came across someone else talking about this.

Another person had the same problem. He stated:

"I must say sorry to all my supporters that donated, but I no longer exist on bandcamp. Someone deleted me. I guess bandcamp did it… or I got hacked… Sent them many e-mails to check their server if I exist somewhere… no answer. I don’t plan on re-uploading anytime soon. So sorry for inconvenience. Also did anyone experience anything like this with being deleted?'

- Leemajik

So the question that was asked to him:

"Was it all original material or had you been using samples?"

He answers:

"All original compositions. One tune was made with James Brown drumloop chopped up to unrecognizable amount so I think I’m in the clear."

Another person stated:

"Can someone please shed light on why my Artist account would have been deleted without provocation? I'm active with followers who pay $ for my music. To discover that my entire Artist account seems to have disappeared is really disheartening and frustrating. There should have been zero Copyright or TOS violations that warranted such action. Is it a bug? Did my account get hacked? Help, please.

Wow! Sounds like my experience!

So now my question to myself is: "Did you use any samples, Sonya?" Of course not! I arranged everything, drums, notes, melodies, the actual songs themselves. Heck! I wrote them back in the late 1990s and 2000s. But I'm not original enough? Get the heck out of town, dudes! If you want to claim it was a copyright strike, then make your case. I have proof and I will let you talk to my attorney! But wait! The site has the right to delete my album for no reason at all. NO REASON! Ugh! This is tiring!

Could it be for political reasons?

This is the big one. This is the main reason people come after others on social media. If they don't like the opinion of someone else on political issues, they cancel them, ban them, or try to ruin their lives in some way. How do I know this? It happened to me. Mistakes happen. And yeah, I've said some pretty controversial stuff on Twitter before. But not nearly to the level I've seen others do. What about all those other accounts who actually promote race hate: Those who promote anti-white, anti-brown features beauty standards, featureism, or other forms of race-hate? What about those disrupting other people's experience on twitter by sabotaging other people on the platform? They still get to have an account.

You have to remember, many of these mainstream platforms have been bought out by the same people who bought out Hellywood, Paypal, Youtube, the mainstream music industry, and CNN. And now they want to control what you can post on these sites. And if it doesn't go with what they are pushing... well... you now what happens. So here we go.

This one man, after complaining about how he was banned for no reason made this statement:

"I have a record label that sells black metal records, no neo-nazi or racist stuff. And one day I woke up and the entire page was deleted with 50+ pending orders, as well as any page affiliated to me whatsoever. no warning, no emails, no context. they're ignoring all my emails. I've sent them like 50."

I can feel your pain, bro!

A couple of years ago, I posted a tweet that made some people very angry with me. And I got a huge backlash from that. It didn't go well and I had to shut down a few of my accounts that were associated with that particular username on a few different platforms. I won't go into all the details of what was said or what happened, but my statement didn't have anything to do with Nazism or race-hate against other groups either. But that didn't stop them from calling me a Nazi and labeling me as someone who hated people of other races. Even though the actual post had nothing to do with promoting hate against people of other cultures, ethnicities, or races. But rather reproving racial hatred that was promoted against a certain group of people in the media. I think you get what I'm talking about if you have been paying attention. Go figure. So of course they are going to call your political views "racist" if it isn't what they believe. That's how they control people.

It just keeps going! So let's look at someone who was actually banned for his political views. This guy goes by the name of "Old Captain". He states:

"With a little bit of insider help I have managed to track down a person who directly / indirectly reported on my Bandcamp page resulting in a permanent ban and loss of a community who supported the label likewise the physical / digital / merchandise data. (the information is provided upon request)

Sure it is up to you, but any label who is guided by common sense should black-list him or be cautious, especially those who have ever released politically-challenged albums which tend to cause diarrhea to the antifa puritans. One report by those snowflakes and the whole label's long-established activity might end in a strike or ban. Learn from my mistakes then.

Yrs,

Oleh / Old Captain

Well, what do you know. People really do get banned for their political views on Bandcamp. Who would have thought it. If these artists, who are not bought and payed for by the Illuminati record label businesses; promote ideas that are contrary to their agenda they get banned from these networks. That's how they control what others can say. And people get banned or deleted for their views, opinions, and beliefs that don't line up with the narrative they are pushing. And I am getting pretty tired of seeing my favorite content creators done this way!

So if Bandcamp deletes people's profiles without notice, then how did he find out about this? Well... it goes like this:

"The details dated from last month are here:

NEWS CONCERNING MY BANNED BANDCAMP ACCOUNT:

Old Captain's Bandcamp remains blocked and it is impossible to restore it because there is no remedy for human folly. Meanwhile, here is the person who instigated a witch-hunt campaign against me: meet one MysticRemora, a Canadian antifa, backed by a team of snowflake warriors, I assume, who discovered industrial music but forgot to change his diapers and could not sleep till the account is deleted. They first initiated a 'serious' talk on reddit "Old Captain and Fascism" selecting out of my label's 55 physical / 80 digital / 35 merch releases just one, by Streicher (and later also Pogrom (for the very project's name and the album title "Father:Land), to share their sacred indignation and launch the blitzkrieg of wrath upon a true "hate speaker" like me. I guess they deserve a medal, or at least a badge of courage to so valiantly defeat a criminal who ruined their perfect dreamland of pink unicorns."

So in the link, he finds out who did it and why. And that confirms the reason why his account is now permanently banned. You can read it yourself as I am not going to post any of the contents of that page on my page. But it's all political, folks.

I understand where he is coming from with all this censorship. It's really killing our ability to be able to speak our mind and what we believe. And these people really are the enemies of free speech. Yes, this dude got banned from Bandcamp because he made a politically challenged music album that sent someone on an emotional nervous breakdown roller coaster. But again: my site is not about politics. Neither were my songs. They are all Christian oriented. But remember, even a Christian post can be banned on twitter if it goes against the political narrative. And if these songs or music albums, or the individual doesn't go with the agenda promoted on these UN owned websites, they are censored, banned, or taken down.

For this reason, I really am unsure if I will be using Bandcamp in the future. But for now I made a new account and you can follow me there.

This is how they want to control who is allowed to be heard, and who isn't. That's where the rubber meets the road. So what really was the explanation behind why they deleted my old account? I'm still not so sure. I don't do politics with my music because of obvious reasons. I refuse to dip my toes back into politics at this point, especially after what happened a couple of years ago. You choose your battles. And I will choose mine. There isn't a political solution to a spiritual problem. No politician is going to save us, guys.

So... what else could possibly go wrong?

Bandcamp deleted my account, bandcamp banned me, why did bandcamp delete my account? Bandcamp banned me for no reason, paypal banned me, why did paypal ban me? I can't use paypal anymore, paypal is a joke, I can't use bandcamp without paypal, why did my bandcamp account get deleted? Why was my bancamp account deleted, sonya marlene snedden, sonya marlene,

Wolfspell spells it out:

*** LABEL'S BANDCAMP WILL BE DELETED on 1st of DECEMBER *** As some of you know Wolfspell Records was banned by PayPall in April. Why? I didn't get explanation. I didn't cry about it, made statements etc. Shit happens. Unfortunately without paypal it is impossible to get money from Bandcamp. When you purchase - your money takes bandcamp or go back to you - I don't know. Anyway after the ban, prices for digital albums there, were set to 666€. Also label's bio was updated with explanation so people won't buy it and hopefully understands that fact. Only reason I kept bandcamp was respect to people who bought albums in the past and still keeping it in application. I thought it will work. Unfortunately since that moment there was no week without emails about that price. Emails about greed, cupidity and foolishness. Even I read some jokes in some groups about it. I can't handle it without aggression and for my own health I decided to delete the BC pages. That unfortunately means you (who bought something there) will loose albums you purchased in the past. As far I know. Maybe there is some way to keep it. For sure you can download it and use Foobar, Winamp etc. Anyway I wanted you to know the date and get the files. I'm sorry for it.

So... Paypal is banning people from using their services too. Sounds like discrimination to me. But I thought we weren't allowed to do that? But these people are getting away with too much of it. I say we should all switch to Payoneer.

I may switch to this in the very near future as this is getting to be ridiculous. And don't think you're not next if you step out of line, and they find out what you've been posting. What we'll have to do is utilize sites that support free speech. We may even have to create alternatives. Anyone know of any alternative? Let me know in the comments. And let me know, has this happened to you? What's your story?

I just got my Bandcamp account deleted it seems recently, for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON and without a single email warning or whatsoever, even though I might have spent like 300$+ worth of albums, it should be illegal to do that and these bastards don't even have a phone number or a way to contact them on Facebook, and their "Support" is so well hidden on their site so you can't even find it easily and I bet they won't even reply or just send a lame copy/paste that means nothing and won't restore or refund my money. F**k Bandcamp seriously.

Replying to

That’s messed up. I only had 5 songs posted when they did this to me. I just simply created a new account and reposted them. But that may not be as easy to do for others who have multiple albums posted there and hundreds if not thousands of followers. I was only a very small fish in a huge pond. Sorry this happened to you. With the way things are going with PayPal and due to Bandcamp not allowing the use of alternate payment options (the last I checked) I may move on to a different platform myself. I suggest you do the same.
